Five Intriguing Prospects: Oakton vs. Stone Bridge Scrimmage
Vienna, VA — Oakton hosted Stone Bridge on Friday night for a preseason scrimmage, and we were in the gym taking in the action. Here we recap the contest with a closer look at five intriguing prospects.
MICHAEL HEALY
Michael Healy was an important factor to his team’s success with his overall hustle. The 6-foot-2 wing was active and alert in the passing lanes, rebounded, and hit some shots as well.
MICAH JOHNSON | OAKTON ’19
There was nobody on the court quicker with the ball in his hands than Micah Johnson. Oakton’s crafty floor general showed the ability to create space for his shot and find his teammates.
GARRETT JOHNSON | OAKTON ’20
Garrett Johnson was the best long term prospect on the floor last night. The 6-foot-5 wing was not hitting shots like he normally does, but his shot mechanics looked good and he’s still growing into his body.
ISAIAH RHODES | STONE BRIDGE ’20
6-foot-5 forward Isaiah Rhodes is a stretch big who caught got hot in this contest. Rhodes is also a tough defender who is strong at the point of attack and can finish at the basket in traffic.
CARTER SVENSON | STONE BRIDGE ’20
It was a lot of fun to watch Carter Svenson run the show last night. The lefty floor general racked up several assists, both in half court sets and in the open floor. Svenson’s ability to handle the ball and get others involved, but also to score, will prove useful for his team down the road.
