Farm Bureau Insurance Tip-Off Day 1 Results
Prep Hoops came up to the Upstate yesterday for the opening day at the Farm Bureau Insurance Tip-Off held at Dorman HS. The first day consisted of 3 games. The Farm Bureau Insurance Tip-Off will conclude on Friday with 3 more games.
JL Mann HS 96 Chesnee 80
The JL Mann HS Patriots jumped out to a 27-7 lead on the Eagles. The Patriots were on fire in the first half of the scoring 54 points. The Patriots fresh off a great win over Southside HS the other night led 54-42 at halftime.
Cooper Fowler (2019) led the way for a balanced scoring attack for the Patriots with 16 points, Blake Harris added 15 points, Kyle Marks 12 points, Juwan Scott 11 points and Jayden Brooks 10 points.
Desmond Tate (2019) had the hot hand for the Eagles with 30 points. Alijah Means added 20 points while Ahmad Smith chipped in with 15 points.
Laurens 66 Woodruff HS 53
The Raiders led for the whole game and defeated the Wolverines. Christian Anderson (2019) point guard scored 15 points and Shamare Dendy added 12 points in the victory.
The Wolverines were led in scoring by Marquel Evins with 14 points in the loss. Marcellas Dial chipped in with 9 points.
Dorman HS 93 High Point Academy 48
The Cavaliers jumped out on the Grizzlies and never looked back in this game. The Cavaliers (1-1) on the season were led in scoring by Jack Renwick with 18 points. Renwick is a Wofford baseball commit for next season.
Tyrese Pilgrim (2019) added 14 points while Myles Tate and Ta’Lon Cooper both chipped in with 13 points. Tate finished the evening with 11 assists. P.J. Hall is still out for the Cavaliers and doesn’t look to be back until sometime next month.
The Grizzlies a Class 1A program under Head Coach Marcus Watts continue to play a very competitive schedule. The Grizzlies were just outmatched at times tonight. Reginald Bell and Isayah Owens both scored 17 points in the loss. Jayden Byrd added just 5 points in the loss.
