Fab Freshman to keep an eye on!
Trinity Christian Guard Freddie Dillone: He’s one of the ‘‘next up’’ to come out of Trinity Christian, although the team starting unit is made up of mostly seniors, he is one of the first players off the bench. We like his ability to score the ball and we feel as though he can be a special player if he locks in on a consistent basis.
Southern Lee Guard Jamori Mcdougald: The word is already spreading about this young man and what he can possibly do at Southern Lee this season. We have got the chance to see him on multiple occasions and he has impressed us each time. He can shoot the ball very well from deep, has good ball handling skills and good court awareness to go along with it as well.
Fayetteville Academy Wing Amari Pearson: He plays the game with a very high motor, finishing plays above the rim offensively and blocking shots defensively. He is rounding out the rest of his game with focus on perfecting his ball handling and shooting, once that is perfected, we should expect to see his production increase.
Village Christian Guard Jalen Higgins: He’s another player that will benefit from playing on the varsity level at an early age. Last season he got a few minutes as an 8th grader on varsity and this year he is seeing more time and success on that level. His height at about 6’5 and the ability to shoot the trey ball at a nice rate are attributes that you have to like.
Riverside HS G/F Avion Pinner: Riverside lost a special talent in Guard Jadakis Bonds due to graduation, but they gain a new and upcoming potential star in Avion. He’s another player that we got to see during the spring, summer and fall and he did not disappoint in any of those performances. He can score the ball well, has nice size already at about 6’5 and is not a player that is going to do more talking than producing. You won’t hear too much from him verbally but his game speaks volumes, tons of potential in this youngster.
Village Christian Guard Zy Mclean: He is getting some very valuable on court experience this season playing against some top level competition. This will only help him as time goes on, he can knock down shots at a solid rate and gets after it on the defensive end.
