ENC Quick Start Performers
Overhills HS Sophomore Guard Cinque Lemon started off the season with a bang, in his first game of the season he went for 28 points against Harnett Central. Follow that with a Tournament MVP Award after their matchup with Triton HS on Monday night and you have a youngster that looks like he’s ready to do some damage this season.
Trinity Christian Senior Guard Talton Jones has been one of the most consistent players in the area so far this season. Game in and game out he has performed at a very high level and is one of the main reasons why Trinity has achieved so much success. Trinity is 6-0 so far and will be facing some good competition in their next matchups at the Bojangles Bash vs Dorman HS & Cox Mill HS, both which are teams with a high amount of talent.
Northwood Temple Senior Guard Josh Nickelberry & Junior Guard Jamahri Harvey have both started the season off well. With Nickelberry going insane in the first two games of the year, averaging over 35 PPG, teams clearly will try and double team which will allow Harvey to show what he can do. Recently Jamahri went for 30 Points and turned plenty of heads with his ability and how special he can possibly be.
CFCA Senior Guard EJ Bethea is off to a fast start this season with multiple 30 point games and averaging over 20 PPG a night. His perimeter shooting is one area that has been very impressive, just recently he knocked down 7 treys in a win for his squad.
Village Christian 2020 Guard Zavian McLean had a big time weekend and will be one that D1 college programs will want to add to their target/watch list if they haven’t already. He is an impressive athlete that can score the ball in multiple ways, all while playing with an extremely high motor.
Fayetteville Christian School has hit the ground running, with wins over schools such as CDS, Parrot and GCS, you have to be impressed with what they have accomplished already. They have a nice mixture of Junior and Senior talent to go along with Sophomore PG Kelton Battle who transferred in from Berean Baptist.
Wilson Prep Senior Guard Tyrone Whitaker is off to a quick start for his squad, he’s averaging over 20 Points per game and has helped lead his team to a 3-1 record. Athletic and confident, he is a player that you want to see and is also one that JUCO programs should be calling about.
Pender HS Junior Guard Jajuan Carr is off to a good start averaging over 25 PPG so far this season. We already knew what Carr was capable of and he has stepped right in to his new school, not missing a beat.
