Elite 14 Showcase Friday Standouts (Part II)
We continue our coverage of the Elite 14 Showcase Top Performers from Friday night. Here are some of the other high school players from Texas that stood out.
Top Performers
Zach Muller / 6’4” / SF / Bishop Lynch / 2019
Zach did a little bit of everything to ensure that his Bishop Lynch team won the game. He played really good defense on the opposing team’s best scorer and made him turn the ball over a couple of times. Muller is also a tough scorer that likes to knife to the basket off the wing with his nice first step. He is an unsigned senior that should start to see his recruitment pick up if he keeps playing the way he has been.
Imo Essien / 5’10” / PG / Bishop Lynch / 2021
Imo knows how to play the game at the point guard position. He understands pace and how to use different gears to keep players on their heels. Essien has a tight handle that allows him to maneuver around opponents and find teammates for scoring opportunities. Imo’s efforts earned himself a scholarship offer from North Texas the day after.
Julian Wilson / 6’7″ / PF / ISchool Entrepreneurial Academy / 2019
Julian had a big first half against Bishop Lynch. He hit 3 threes and grabbed a handful of rebounds for his team. Wilson plays alongside a high major prospect center and you can tell that players who play against them are more concerned about his teammate and not Julian. However, Wilson takes advantage of the lack of attention he receives by knocking down jumpers and crashing the boards hard.
