Jakobe was not his usual self in terms of finishing with his soft touch around the basket, but he did impress me on the other side of the floor. One knock on Jakobe has been his ability to defend other four men and he proved that he could stay in front of his man and keep him from scoring easily in the paint. The skilled four man is one high majors should seriously take a look at.
Drew Timme / 6’10” / PF / Richardson J.J. Pearce / 2019
Timberview had it in for Drew Timme Saturday afternoon. Even through the double teams and tough defensive pressure, Drew still found ways to keep his Mustangs team in the game. He was playing through fatigue, but was constantly aggressive in drawing multiple fouls and made beautiful passes from the high and low post. His motor is always high and he displayed a valiant effort in front of the Texas A&M staff (who were wearing #BCB shirts). Drew finished with a well-earned double double of 20 points and 12 rebounds in the loss.
God’s Gift Ezedinma / 6’7″ / PF / Waco Midway / 2020
Ezedinma heated up in the second half vs. Waxahachie, connecting on three attempts from long distance. However, he still needs to improve his I.Q. and realize when to take perimeter jumpers and when to pass them up. I was very pleased with his ability to hit glass and grab rebounds. However, he still must add strength to his thin frame. Ezedinma finished with a double double of 23 points and 12 boards in his Waco Midway debut.
