Contenders, Sleepers, & Prospects: Western Big 6
We are now in the month of November and that means the season is almost here! With that being said we are looking across the state at various conferences and previewing the teams and players to watch! Today we dive into the Western Big 6!
Pre-Season Player of the Year
Jamir Price (Rock Island)
Price is a commit to Bradley. The senior shooting guard elevated his game throughout the spring and summer with Quad City Elite. Proved he could play both on and off the ball. Plus shooter from mid-range. Range stretches out to three. Look for him to be a big time scorer this season!
Team to Beat
Rock Island is once again the preseason favorite. Price is the go to scorer, but this team is more than just him. Solomon Gustafson presents size on the interior. They have two intriguing sophomores that should make impacts this season in point guard Jordan Rice and forward Romeo Metcalf.
Biggest Threat
Moline will look to win the conference behind their senior wings. Deonte Billups is one of the premier scorers in the Quad City region. Drew Wiemers is a skilled forward with versatility. Trey Hurt is a junior point guard to track.
