We are now in the month of November and that means the season is almost here!  With that being said we are looking across the state at various conferences and previewing the teams and players to watch!  Today we dive into the Southwest Suburban Conference!

Pre-Season Player of the Year

Tyler Cochran (Bolingbrook)

Cochran and Yesufu could both be the choice here.  We will go with Cochran though slightly.  Big and physical combo guard that plays with the ball in his hands.  Powerful getting downhill and finishing through contact.  Does whatever his team needs him to do to win.  Committed to Northern Illinois.

Team to Beat

Bolingbrook is once again the favorite heading into the season.  Coach Robert Brost has a dynamic backcourt with Drake commit Joseph Yesufu and NIU bound Tyler Cochran.  They have extensive experience and are ready to lead the young guys.  Senior bigs Kameron Leonard and Marquise Ratcliff will provide rebounding and shot blocking.  Isiah Burd is a sleeper.  Darius Buford could breakout in a major way as a junior.

Biggest Threat

Homewood Flossmoor is deep and talented!  In the senior class they have big time athletes in Maurion Scott, Isaac Stanback, and Trace Williams who set the tone.  Junior Josiah Palmer burst on the scene this fall with his scoring.  RJ Ogom is a beast rebounder.  Chad Readey might be the best long term prospect and the post is only a sophomore.

Sleeper Team

Lincoln Way East has super under recruited two guard Julian Barr.  One of the best snipers in the Chicago land area.  Inside Nate Seputis is one of the best bigs in the junior class.  Inside-outside duo will have to carry them.  Sophomore Cameron Mallory is one to keep an eye on.
