Recruiting
Indiana

The high school season is here and we have hit a little bit of a stalemate with commitments but there might be some movement on the horizon. At the end of each month throughout the season, we will be diving into those players still on the board and looking at who fits where. Things can change in the span of a week so each month should provide us with a whole new view on the landscape.

Today, we are looking at the 2019 power forwards and the players still remaining on the board. We list the DI, DII, NAIA, and DIII targets. As a note, these are based off of where we think the player will excel at the highest level. Players will get recruited above and below the level we have them listed for but it is our estimation that these are where they would succeed the most.

Already Off The Board:

Since the last update, we had two guys take the plunge to sign in the early signing period and that was Jacob Laravia and Sydney Curry. Weren’t sure how sound the commitment to Miami (OH) was for Curry but he has signed, nonetheless.  Laravia had been building up and looked like he could stay more in the Midwest rather than some of the far away offers like Jacksonville and Incarnate Word.

DI Targets Still On The Board:

Well, it looks like Trayce is going to stay on this board for a while now. He’s stated publicly that he won’t commit “soon” but the definition of soon is a little vague. Same players still involved and could be any time between now and March.  The only other DI target right now is Jalen Johnson who started off the season well for Manual. Could still see his stock rise if he can produce.

DII Targets Still On The Board:

No changes to the DII board since last time. Ejah had a solid first game but Jakobie Robinson put up some big numbers in Warren Central’s blowout. If he can really step into that role, be that producer he has yet to really show anyone, that would volt him up boards and give him a whole new level of interest.

NAIA Targets Still On The Board:

No changes to this group as well, Soltis and Stoltz still lead the way. Rinehart is coming off a foot injury and not sure that he is back yet.  Again, the thing about this particular group that stands out is there are a ton of different options. Size, skill, athleticism. Pick your poison. Still a ton and a lot of these guys, if they do end up at the NAIA level, could theoretically play the 4/5 role for a team that could help with the lack of options for centers in this class.

DIII Targets Still On The Board:

No changes to the DIII targets still on the board. Some good performances so far from Detling, Edwards, and Sroufe but we haven’t been able to really see them yet. Those three could be in line to move up as well as Jaylen Jennings but he will need to find his footing with Ben Davis first.
