TA’VAS LAWLER-SHOWERS 6-0 PG Marshall Academy:
A big-time scorer at the Class D level who is not shy about looking for his shot. Can shoot three’s in transition and accelerates to the hoop. His speed allows him to create plays off the dribble. Lightning quick with a very good handles. He runs the court with purpose and attacks the lane with ease. A catch and shoot player with solid on-ball
Lawler-Showers exploded onto the scene with a 50-point game last season and finished as the Battle Creek area’s leading scorer. He was named the MVP of the Mid-South Conference after guiding the Griffons to 20 wins and a league title.
CARSON BETZ G Bellevue:
Betz’s value to the Broncos’ 22-win season went beyond the box score, as his defense often set the tone for the Broncos. The sophomore guard averaged 11.6 points, 6.5 rebounds, 2.1 steals and 2.2 assists per game on his way to earning Second Team All-SCAA honors.
“Carson has started every game for us since his freshman season,” said coach Joe Costello. A great mult-sport athlete who excels on the football season as well. Betz best asset his ability to ball hawk defenders. Look for a breakout season from him this year.
KABIR BERGIN 6’6” F Ann Arbor Skyline:
Bergin is a great student in the classroom to go along with basketball IQ on the court. He has the ability to make mid-range shots with efficiency. He knows how to get to his spot with an affective one dribble pull up. Bergin has the ability to make teammates around him better through efficient passing and he constantly communicates on both ends of the floor. His footwork and low post scoring skills are strong as well his capacity to contol the glass.
Has the interest of Horizon, MAC, Ivy, GLIAC, MIAA, and WHAC coaches. He plays his AAU ball for AABA.
JUSTUS SALAAM-CLARK 5’11” PG North Farmington:
His grassroots team is the Michigan Warriors. A good defender who moves his feet well on the perimeter and brings energy to either end of the court. He also rebounds well for a guard. Very quick and athletic with good court vision. Good first step and strong for a smaller high school guard. Uses finesse to get to the rim. Has a decent floater and gets to his spot with fluidity and ease. A great leaper who can board from the guard position. Keep your eyes open for this kid to jump out of the gym this upcoming season.
