2019 Watchlist: Wing Players to Watch
The players on this list can be your primary playmakers or play down low in the paint. The combination of size, skill and athleticism make these wings very valuable.
These are the wings from the 2019 class that you should keep an eye on this season.
Christian Zamora, Lynden High School, 6’5 SG: As a junior, Christian Zamora lead Lynden high school to a 2A state title. Earning first team honors during the regular season and postseason. Zamora is a scoring guard who can score from all three levels. He is most effective from behind the arc where he can get hot and string shots together. Even with the great success that came from his junior year, expectations are even higher this season. The reigning state champs will look to go back-to-back with Zamora looking to add to his high school resume.
Kyle Luttinen, Roosevelt High School, 6’6 SG: Kyle is coming off of an impressive summer where he turned some heads playing for Northwest Coastal. Luttinen is a shooter who has the ability to stretch the defense and is an opportunistic penetrator. His long frame allows him to shoot over smaller defenders. He can also guard multiple positons on the defensive end. After a standout summer where he was the best player on his club team. At times, he was the best player on the floor. Luttinen has the momentum in his favor and should have a breakout season.
Dylan Sullivan, Walla Walla High School, 6’6 SF: Dylan Sullivan is a versatile defender who can guard every position on the floor. Sullivan is an underrated athlete and he has the ability to play above the rim. He use his strong body very well to bang in the paint. Dylan Sullivan has a natural feel for the game. He can take opponents off the dribble, post up, or knock down the open shot. Just an all around talent. This young man has a chance to go down as the best player to ever come out of Walla Walla high school.
Jamon Kemp, Rainier Beach High School, 6’6 SG: The uber-athletic Kemp is one of the handful of transfers moving into the Rainier Beach Vikings locker room this off-season. Coming off a state championship with the Garfield bulldogs and an impressive summer with the North West Panthers playing in the Adidas Gauntlet. Kemp is a high motor wing with elite skills on both sides of the ball and can defend multiple positions. Kemp could be the best defender in the state. He has skills that will easily translate to any college team.
