2019 Standouts : Carvers Bay Bear Jamboree
Prep Hoops made the trip back over to the Choppee Community of Georgetown County a couple days this week. Lets take a look at the biggest jamboree in the Palmetto State first with some 2019 standouts.
Kassius “Jay” Williams – Socastee HS
Williams was getting to the basket very easily today for the Braves. Williams a left-handed point guard plays with a lot of confidence and swag on the floor. Williams 6’1 will look to lead the Braves this season on a senior dominated team. Williams is in the same school for back to back years after moving around a lot during his high school career.
Marcus Moore – Socastee HS
Moore 6’8 struggled at times today on contact around the basket. Moore keeps the ball up high and rebounds it on both ends of the floor. Moore is extremely coachable and still has his best basketball in front of him since he started late in life. Moore actually played jayvee basketball last year season according to Braves Head Coach Derrick Hilton.
Jonathan Wright – Socastee HS
Wright 5’9 is a tough minded kid that can really knock down shots from behind the three point line. Wright a undersized shooting guard is best suited off the ball.
Jevon Griffin – Socastee HS (pictured on front)
Griffin is a welcome addition to the Braves after coming over from the North Strand and North Myrtle Beach HS. Griffin 6’3 left-handed spot up shooter takes a high percentage of his shots from downtown,
Kenynon Scott – Darlington HS
Scott a undersized shooting guard has a extremely quick shot release. Scott 5’11 hit some catch-shoot 3 pointers today for the Falcons.
Tyshaun Johnson – Darlington HS
Johnson 5’11 is the floor leader for the Falcons offense. Johnson a left-handed guard attends Mayo High School in Darlington. Johnson really looks to push the ball up-tempo. Johnson is a deceptive athlete for his size.
Rayquan Kinloch – Andrews HS
Kinloch plays in the post for the Yellow Jackets but isn’t afraid to face up from 15 feet. Kinloch has a good set of shoulders and don’t mind using them to make space in the paint.
Direlle McGee – Kingstree HS
McGee didn’t play great today for the Jaguars but still has to be mentioned here for the new look Jaguars. McGee just finished up with football last week.
