These five guys made an impact on their teams a year ago. They want to continue their fantastic play into the new season as they will be leaders on their repeated teams.
Here are the newest additions to your 2019 rankings.
Antonio Stillwell Jr. Shorecrest High School, 6’1 G– Antonio Stillwell Jr. is a strong guard who does a good job of creating his shot. Stillwell Jr. is also a lettering football player who carries his physicality and toughness with him on the court. At 6’2, Antonio has a strong build so he can play both guard positions. His shooting ability lets him play off ball as a spot up shooter or create space on his own to get his shot off. The Shorecrest senior has Division 2 interest coming into the season as he is ready for a big year in 3A Wesco.
Ryker Wuttke, Kamiak High School, 6’10 C- The 6’10 Canadian looks like he is finally coming in to his body after what was some of his best basketball this summer. Ryker takes pride on the defensive end, as he is a premier shot blocker. He will want to make an impact on both sides of the ball as Kamiak high school looks to win back to back district titles and return back to the Tacoma dome. The knights will need Wuttke to be a leader for them as they return a mostly young and inexperienced team.
DaMarius Brown, Shadle Park High School, 6’2 G- As a junior at Wapoto high school in central WA, Brown was named to the CWAC first tem. Going into his senior year, DaMarius has transferred to Shadle Park high school in Spokane WA where his father, Arnold Brown, has been named the head basketball coach. Brown will be a great addition to the Highlanders roster. Teaming up with another 2019 standout Jacob Groves. The newly acquired senior could be the key to returning the Highlanders to the state tournament.
Andy Moyer, Bellevue Christian High School, 6’1 PG- The lefty point guard chose not to participate in club ball this summer to focus on his body and work on his game. Moyer was a first team player in the Nisqually 1A conference. He lead the league in scoring as a junior scoring better then 18 ppg. Andy is a downhill guard who excels in the open floor, where he can get to the rim or find teammates trailing the play. The all league point guard will look to build on what was a breakout season last year and continue to grow his recruitment.
Micah Pollard, Foss High School, 6’1 PG- The Foss senior PG has great upside as he begins his final year at the Tacoma high school. Pollard has a high motor and is an athletic guard who can rebound and score at a high rate. Micah is a terrific defender and excels in the open floor, which allows him to turn defense into offense very quickly. As he continues to work on his improved offensive game, Pollard can affect the game in every way. Newly hired coach Josh Barsh has a lot to be excited about going to the season.
