Westover HS Open Gym/Workouts
We dropped into the building at Westover HS last week and as always we saw a very impressive session ran with high intensity and discipline. This is one of the younger teams that Westover has had in the past few years but we see a nice amount of talent and potential.
2020 Forward Traymond Willis-Shaw: He is one of the few returning players to this team and will be looked upon to lead with his scoring and rebounding ability. He has a long wingspan to go along with his 6’6 height and we have seen flashes of some impressive offensive ability.
2020 Guard Isaiah Bridges: Recently transferring in from Chicago, he is the top of guard that you love to have in your program. He has a strong work ethic, plays the game with intensity and has a nice IQ for the game, he has a lot of tools that we think could make him a very nice player.
2021 Wing Quan Foreman-Williams: He is a player that we weren’t familiar with prior to the workout but as time went on you could see that he can definitely play this game. His soft touch and ability to knock down shots from deep is something that we were impressed with. He has family that has achieved success in basketball so we wont be surprised to see his game grow over the next few years.
2020 Guard Minoz Drummond: His size is something that may tempt you to overlook him but he can play the game at a nice level. He gets after it on the defensive end of the court and has a nice feel for the game offensively, should be a player that plays a role for the Westover squad.
Due to football season a few players were missing but two players in particular that we know will be major factors for the team are:
2019 Guard Tyron George: A starting SG with nice athleticism and all the tools to be an outstanding defender, he has good upper body strength and plays with toughness.
2019 Guard Teandre Walton: One of the hardest playing players that they have on the squad, he plays with an extremely high motor and helps his team with extra possessions. Scoring wise he slashes to the basket and does a nice job of drawing fouls to get defenders into foul trouble.
