The Race for Mr. Basketball: Jeremiah Hernandez
In this series we take a look at the potential candidates for Mr. Basketball in the state of Illinois for this upcoming season. Here we profile St. Viator senior small forward Jeremiah Hernandez.
Profile:
Hernandez is one of the top wing prospects in the state of Illinois. Currently sets at #11 overall in the state with a chance to move up with a strong senior season. What we really like about his game is how easy he scores it. Smooth ball handler that can get to the rack, but also elevates over defenders with his jumper. An area that goes unnoticed often is how electric of a passer he is.
Odds to Win:
25/1
Why He Can Win:
He will be on a very good team this year at St. Viator in which he will be the leader. Hernandez is a natural scorer that will light up score boards all season with how he puts the ball in the hoop. They play in a quality conference which will give Hernandez some quality opponents to produce against.
Obstacles to Win:
Hernandez doesn’t have much name recognition in other areas of the state and we are not sure how he is going to get it as all of their games will be in the Chicagoland area.
