Season Preview: Early Impact Names To Know
With open gyms and workouts in full swing, the basketball season is getting closer and closer as each day passes. There have been quite a few players that we have seen over the spring and summer who we feel are going to turn heads and make impacts this season that many colleges and media members do not know about. So without further ado, lets jump right in and take a look at some players we feel will make an early impact.
Richlands HS 2019 Guard Colin Radcliffe: Last year at Northside-Jax, his role was somewhat limited, partially because of how loaded this team was. Now at his new school, he will be looked to take on a much larger role and showcase what many got to see this spring and summer with Royals Elite. His ability to score the ball as well as his athleticism are both attention grabbers and attributes that you have to like.
Pine Forest HS 2019 Forward Miles Ray: The transfer from Freedom Christian should have quite a bit of success for the Trojans this year. His playing style reminds us a lot of former Pine Forest Trojan, Tyshun Archie, who went on to play at the D1 JC level. The ability to make plays above the rim and is what sets Ray apart from many players in the county, once he improves his perimeter shooting, more colleges will be calling.
East Wake 2021 Guard Zach Sloan: His numbers last year won’t scream at you, but the skillset he has is next level without a doubt. He can score the ball in bunches in a small amount of time and he is only scratched the surface with how good he can possibly be.
Harrells Christian 2020 Guard Marcus Boykin: Media wise we have already been familiar with his name, he averaged over 17 PPG last season and will look to have an even better season this year. The lefty has a smooth game and does a good job of picking his spots and times to be aggressive, a lot to like about Marcus Boykin.
Northwood Temple 2020 Guard Jahmari Harvey: His varsity career has been productive so far and we don’t expect him to have anything but further success this season. He has good height and wingspan, athletic ability and a natural feel for the game which helps him to score a high amount of buckets with ease.
