Smith’s two offers are from Columbia University and New Jersey Institute of Technology (NJIT). The 6-foot-11 forward who ran with Team Richmond Garner Road through the AAU circuit is well aware of the opportunity that awaits him this upcoming winter and next spring/summer.
“Next year is a big year,” Smith said. “I’m waiting to see what next year is going to be like.
“I’m really just taking everything in.”
Last time we checked in with Smith was in May when he listed Davidson, Princeton, George Mason, George Washington, Holy Cross, Rice, William & Mary and Tulane as schools that have expressed interest.

With just over a month till the high school season is underway, Smith assured Prep Hoops that Trinity has been in the gym getting ready. Despite losing a couple players from last year’s roster, he has high hopes.
“We’ve lost a couple guys, but we still have high expectations for our team,” Smith said. “I think we are already lo0king forward to the high school season.”
As far as his individual game goes, the rising junior mentioned that he focused most on his ball handling and lateral quickness. Both attributes will help him expand his game beyond the paint.
