Recruiting Report: Tommy Jensen (2019)
Lakeville North point guard led the Panthers to the final four in Class AAAA last winter and then showed with WOTN that he has a scoring punch that many didn’t know he had. What’s next for Tommy Jensen?
“Some things I’m looking forward to in my senior year are choosing what (college) I’ll be attending and playing basketball at next year, growing a great bond with my teammates at North, and making a run for the state championship and having a great senior season,” Jensen said.
Tommy has had a great career for Lakeville North and WOTN. The Panthers continue to be an elite program in the state and Jensen has helped WOTN continue to grow. A top memory? The fans and coach letting it loose!
“The best moment in my hoops career was last year when we won the section championship against Rochester JM in a close game and having the fans rush the court afterward. Also after the game Coach Oxton came into the locker room screaming and we all started jumping around with him. That was a blast.”
It makes the daily grind worth it. So what is Tommy continuing to work at?
“The thing I want to improve on the most this year is to start getting into the paint a lot more to finish and create for others,” Tommy said.
“This winter we have four returning varsity players last year and a really good bunch of seniors. We really believe we have a good chance to get back to state and win the whole thing.”
The thoughts of college basketball is in the mind of Tommy Jensen. He’s been to see a few schools lately.
“The schools I’ve been in contact with the most are St Johns, St Thomas, and Grandview University (IA). I’ve visited all three.”
