Jayden Hibbitt, a class of 2019 forward from John Paul the Great, is a nice sleeper who can do a bit of everything on the court. The well-rounded unsigned senior recently spoke about his overall game and recruitment among other topics.

PH: For those who haven’t seen you play, how would you describe your game?

JH: “I’m a playmaker. I can shoot, and I can take it off the dribble to help my teammates score.”

PH: What’s the most underrated part of your game?

JH: “I think it’s about how hard I play. People don’t see my effort on the court, but I’m everywhere getting rebounds, steals, and blocks.

PH: How are your grades?

JH: “My grades are good. I’ve got a 3.0 cumulative, and I got a 3.25 this quarter. My SAT score is a 1090.”

PH: Who’s recruiting you hardest right now?

JH: “Lynchburg, Roanoke, Arcadia, Lees McRae, Denver, and Virginia Wesleyan.”

PH: Have you visited any schools?

JH: “I visited Roanoke, and I’m visiting Lynchburg on the 9th.”

PH: What’d you think about Roanoke?

JH: “It was a nice campus. I liked the feel of it, and it could be home.”

PH: What type of feedback do you receive from college coaches?

JH: “They say I’m very versatile. I can guard 1 through 4. They like my shooting and ability to take people off the dribble.”

PH: What are you working on right now?

JH: “I’m working every day to get my handles and jump shot better.”

PH: What is the most improved part of your game?

JH: “My three-point shooting and my ball-handling. That was a major focus this offseason.”

PH: What are your short term goals?

JH: “To hopefully secure a D1 offer.”

PH: What do you think you can bring to a college program?

JH: “A lot of heart. A work-ethic that is uncanny, and I’ll do anything the coach asks me to do to win.”
