Recruiting Report: Darius Buford (2020)
Class of 2020 combo guard Darius Buford will be a name that emerges this season as a key perimeter threat for Bolingbrook. He already has a D1 offer in hand after recently picking up one from Drake. This combo guard has long arms which makes up for his lack of ideal height. Plus athlete that is very quick twitched. Gets to the rim off the bounce as well as crashes the glass for offensive rebound put backs. Guard with upside that will see his stock rise in our next 2020 rankings update after his play at PrepHoops Top 250.
Recruiting is starting to pick up for him ahead of the high school season.
“I have a lot of interest. Drake just offered me. Miami (OH) is very interested.”
What was it like to get his first offer from Drake?
“I have been waiting on that since I was like four so it was a very exciting time. I am very thankful for everyone that helped me get there.”
Drake already has a commitment from his senior teammate Joseph Yesufu. How would he describe his game?
“I have a high motor. Never get tired. Do the simple stuff. Love playing the game. Athletic of course. I take pride in my defense.”
He discussed his role on another loaded Bolingbrook squad this year.
“I am going to be the spark and defensive presence. Getting buckets whenever I need too.”
