Recruiting Report: Connor Bich (2019)
Six-foot-7, 190 pound forward Connor Bich of Hermantown had a fantastic 17u year with Comets DLR knocking down shots as a stretch forward. Now schools are talking and Hermantown expectations are high.
“I am really looking forward to see how our team plays together,” Connor said. “I think we have a great group of guys that will work together very well. I’m looking forward to seeing if we can make it back to the state tournament.”
The state tournament was special for the kids at Hermantown because they won their final six games of the season to get to make state. The memory of closing out the win over Cloquet is something Connor will never forget.
“The most special moment of my basketball career would definitely be when the last few seconds on the clock were counting down in our section championship game last year,” Connor said.
Hermantown lost their top scorer but brings back five of their top seven guys from a year ago. David Birkeland must be replaced and Connor is taking the steps to become an even more reliable scoring threat.
“I would like to improve my ball handling and my shot creation off the drive,” Bich said.
Connor is also being looked at by several schools for his skills and potential.
“I am visiting UW Eau Claire, UW-River Falls, and Bethany,” Connor said. “The schools that have been showing the most interest are Dakota Wesleyan, St. John’s, Augsburg, and Jamestown.”
In addition to his 14.2 points per game Connor grabbed seven boards a contest shooting 78 percent from the foul line and 46 percent from the field.
