Prospect Spotlight: Travis Thomas (2019)
2019 Cape Coral guard Travis Thomas is a hard worker.
The senior played a key role off the bench for a Seahawks group that went 24-8 losing in the Class 7A state semifinal to eventual champion Doral.
“My 11th grade year was a good year got to do a lot of cools thing with the basketball team. All my teammates were really good people to be around,” Thomas told Prep Hoops. “Being around them helped me a lot. They would always tell me what I need to work on and what I was good at and that just made me more confident.”
The 6’0″, 175-pounder says he is excited about this season ahead.
“I want to know if we can keep our reputation from last year,” he said. “I feel like we have a team that can do it again but we just need to keep working hard.”
This summer, Thomas suited up for the BTB Seahawks, the Cape Coral High travel team. He’s been with them since his freshman year.
No offers or interest have come yet for Thomas.
He pointed to his ability to slash to the basket as his biggest strength. He’s aiming to improve his shooting this season.
A strong minded guard, Thomas does all the gritty work for his side. Defensively, he doesn’t shy down from pressure. He’s active on the boards and he can draw contact often as an attacker offensively. Look for Thomas to be the glue for the Seahawks this fall.
