Prospect Spotlight: Griffin Diggs (2020)
Ogden has a chance to really good this season, and 6-foot-3 guard Griffin Diggs could be a big reason why.
Three of the Bulldogs top four scorers from a season ago return, among them is Diggs, who averaged 7.6 points and 3.7 rebounds per game last season.
Diggs is able to get it done on defense, too. Last year he led the team in steals.
“I’d say I’m more of just a versatile guard. I always like to hustle out there,” said Diggs. “And on offense, I can go in the post of be a guard and score wherever I’m needed.”
This spring and summer, Diggs was staying busy while playing with Iowa Cornsharks 16U and 17U. He’s also been playing plenty with Ogden in summer and fall leagues.
And there will be high hopes for the Bulldogs this winter. Especially with top performer Ben Heeren returning for his senior season.
“It’s going to be a lot different being one of the top guys on the roster,” said Diggs. “Ben is a crazy basketball player and can put up 20 and 10 easily. Defensively, I’ll need to be a lockdown defender.”
A guy who also plays football and runs track, Diggs mentioned that he’ll look to pursue whichever one he sees most fit at the next level.
“I’m just going to wait and see what happens. I’d love to go and play some sport in college,” he said. “I guess it doesn’t really matter what sport, I’d just want that experience.”
