Prospect Spotlight: Emmanuel Nwokeabia (2020)
Emmanuel Nwokeabia is an international talent coming up in the state of Florida currently.
Ranked No. 3 overall in the Class of 2020 by Swiss Hoops, the 6’3″, 175-pounder played for the Swiss National Team this past summer while competing in the FIBA European Championship.
He played both JV and varsity as a sophomore at Impact Academy in Sarasota where he says helped take his game to the next level.
“During my sophomore year at Impact, I was able to do a lot of learning and was also able to gain a better perspective on how to play the game,” Nwokeabia said. “Being able to play with so many high-level international players was beneficial.”
He says he’s looking forward to being on the of the main players on the varsity team this season and showcasing his talents enough to land his first offer.
Nwokeabia chose to play with the Swiss National team instead of travel ball this past summer
“I did it because of the experience I thought I could gain from playing at the national level,” he said. “Competing against the best players from different countries was extremely fun and allowed me to improve my European approach to the game.”
Nwokeabia broke down his strengths and areas of improvement.
Strengths: Slashing, off the dribble pull-up, rebounding and defense.
Areas of improvement: off hand finishing, balance and range.
The work that Nwokeabia puts in on a daily basis is noticeable. He’s adding muscle in the process and his keen ability to attack the rim, move in transition and play hard nosed defense gives him an edge moving forward. Expect him to make a name for himself this season with Impact varsity.
