Prospect Introduction: Riley Kugel (2022)
It was quite a year for Central Florida Christian.
The Eagles posted a 27-4 record while advancing to the Class 2A state semifinal before losing to eventual champion Miami Christian.
Central Florida Christian brings back most of its core and gains a few young talented athletes. One of them is 6’2″, 169-pounder Riley Kugel.
A shooting guard, Kugel says he’s excited about learning about his mistakes from the seniors and fixing them while just getting to experience varsity basketball.
“My 8th grade year I was at Robinswood Middle and I had a good year I can say,” Kugel told Prep Hoops. “I could have done better but I did what I was supposed to do which was lead my team. I definitely had a role to play and it was to create shots for my teammates.”
This summer, Kugel played with the Orlando Chaos, a travel team he’s been with for two years.
No offers have come yet, but he’s received interest from SAGC up in New York.
Kugel says his IQ and court vision as his biggest strengths. He’s aiming to improve his overall game this season.
Central Florida Christian has been doing a good job at developing talent, especially guards as of late. Look for Kugel to rotate in and give the Eagles sound minutes off the bench. He’s still growing and learning, but he’s off to fast start.
