Jahveon Medearis 6’2” (2020 Downey, Ca) starts his junior year with a new squad and is a player to watch. His accolades consist of all All-Area first team and second team Del Rey All-League. Medearis has transferred to a newly opened prep school in Sante Fe Springs where he will play in a competitive prep school circuit.

While attending Cantwell Sacred Heart of Mary as a sophomore, Medearis helped lead his team to the finals in the league, where they fell short to Bishop Montgomery who later went on to win CIF. His love and passion for the game have led him to take his talents to Veritas Prep Academy with a loaded roster of elite players. Medearis is able to hold his own though while leading a team full of studs.

Medearis is back from his third Arizona trip since beginning school in August. The team recently returned from a 3-0 run in the Prep Circuit and in two weeks from now they will be returning to compete for The Duel in Desert. Medearis has been invited to play in several exposure camps such as Pangos Frosh-Soph and the SoCal Splash showcase this summer, where other elite players of 2020 were invited.

Medearis is an exceptional athlete with the ability to score offensively at will. His coach, George Zedan, who coached Medearis in the ninth grade at Cantwell, and are back together again for his Junior season. Zedan expresses how Medearis’s offense is on point but avoids contact at times which is an area of growth for the junior.

Don’t let the small frame of Medearis fool you, he has put on 12 pounds of muscle over the summer. Also, he has a high basketball IQ and bursts of quickness that make up for his stature. His long length and athleticism allow him to be a lockdown defender and he plays with heart, that can’t be taught.
