Carius Key Nearing a Decision
Player Breakdown
Carius Key is a scoring first guard that knows how to get buckets in different ways. He is a very powerful slasher that attacks the rim with a full head of steam. His jumpshot is decent and keeps his opponents from sagging off on him too much. Carius has a great body at 6’2″ and will use it to overpower players. He had an impressive junior season at Irving Macarthur and a successful spring/summer where he picked up a couple of Division II offers. I wanted to talk to Carius a little bit about his recruitment and how he is preparing for the high school season.
The Interview
Dre:. How was your official visit to Texas A&M-Commerce?
Carius: The visit was great! It had a real great home feeling and the players and staff welcomed me with open arms.
Dre: Who all is recruiting you?
Carius: UT-Tyler, University of Arkansas-Fort Smith, UT-Permian Basin, and St. Mary’s
Dre: When do you think you’ll commit before the school season or after season?
Carius : I’m committing on Friday, November 2.
Dre: What goals do you want to accomplish this season?
Carius: This year, I hope to accomplish being district MVP and getting that state ring.
Final Thoughts
Carius is one the best scorers in the state and will have to bring that scoring ability to Irving Macarthur this year for his team to achieve his desired goals. Key will make his college decision on Friday and whoever gets him will be getting a heck of a ball player.
