Pangos: National 2022 Evals
Over the weekend PrepHoops took in the Pangos All-Midwest Frosh/Soph Camp. The event featured many of the top prospects in the Midwest in the freshman and sophomore classes. Here we breakdown the players in attendance! This is our National 2022 Evaluations!
PF Jalen Washington (Gary Westside, IN)
Washington is one of the premier prospects out of the state of Indiana in the 2022 class. The 6’7” power forward struggled some finishing during the week. He definitely showed flashes of his immense potential. Quick second jump off the floor. Super athletic at his size and runs the floor fluidly. Mobile four man that should project as a quality defender.
SF Kamari Lands (La Lumiere, IN)
Lands was super intriguing last year in this setting. Now he is in high school as a freshman at prep power La Lumiere. This 6’6” small forward is at his best in the open floor. High flyer who went coast to coast on several occasions. Weaves in and out of the defense with his long strides. Very good ball handler for a young small forward. Quick jumper off the floor. Very bright future here!
PG Leland Walker (North Central, IN)
Walker is a combo guard that looks to score. Plus athlete and pit bull on ball defender. Active hands getting deflections and steals. Several times got steals and took them the other way for buckets.
PG Tayshawn Comer (Cathedral, IN)
Comer is a super athletic guard that can shoot it some hitting a few threes.
SG Colson Bercier (Shanley Catholic, ND)
Bercier is a native of North Dakota. He brought his game to the windy city to showcase himself. The incoming freshman is a plus shooter from the perimeter knocking down catch and shoot threes on a regular basis.
G Inslee Carroll (Doss, KY)
Carroll is a combo guard at 5’11” that is more of a scorer at this stage. Pushed it in transition and was most effective playing in an up and down type game rather than the half court.
PF Gabe Burkle (Prairie, IA)
Burkle is a broad shouldered power forward that is tough inside. Knack for being around the ball and getting rebounds.
PF Aidan Shaw (Blue Valley, KS)
Long and lanky forward that moves fluidly. Quick second jump around the hoop. Shot blocking presence with his timing and explosion off the floor. Offensively can step out to hit a mid-range jumper on occasion.
PG Sean Jones (Lincoln, OH)
This small 5’9” point guard has vision making flashy passes. At times it can lead to turnovers. Pass first guard. Speed pushing it in the open floor. Quite a few transition finishes.
