Javonne Lowery Talks Commitment
I was able to catch up with Javonne Lowery a 6’4 SG of Pearland High School tonight. Javonne made his commitment via twitter with an commitment video. I had spoken with Javonne this past Sunday at the Extra Eyes Competition Camp. He had revealed his top 3 schools (UL-Lafayette, Sam Houston State, and Texas State).
Javonne tell us why the University of Louisiana at Lafayette? “I chose UL-Lafayette because I felt like I could come in and play my freshman season, plus I really liked the campus and coaching staff. They also treated me like family from day one. I value that a lot so that played a big role in my decision also. Coach Marlin and staff also has connections to professional organizations overseas and the NBA. I truly feel that UL-Lafayette can best prepare me for that next level when the time comes. Go Ragin Cajuns.”
Javonne looks to led Pearland High School back to the UIL Playoffs. Last season they finished 22-13 and went 8-5 in District play. They made it to the quarterfinals last year. Javonne looks to boost his team even further this year. Last season he averaged a team high of 14.2 ppg. He also grabbed 5.6 rpg and 1.7 spg. Look for those numbers to increase on his senior season. Summer basketball he played with Basketball University. Where on circuit he shot 30/65 from the 3PT, shooting 45.2% from behind the arc.
