From the Gridiron to the Hardwood: Dual-Sport Standouts
Today we highlight some of the best two sport athletes in the state. As football season comes to an end these players are begining to shift their attention to basketball. Playing one sport at a high level is difficult enough but for these players they have managed to excel in two sports.
Jake Martinson 6’5″ 205 lb WR/SG. BIG RAPIDS
His athleticism makes him a valuable asset for any team. A hardworker with the meaureables to compliment is high IQ makes for a great athlete. Look for Jake’s stock to rise this basketball season.
Jalen Broussard 6’2 Guard/WR/QB EAST GRAND RAPIDS
He was a major play maker as a wide receiver and defensive back last season. He now runs the offense playing QB for East Grand Rapids. The future looks bright for this rising star.
Jaden Mabin 6’5 PF/TE MATTAWAN
Big Body with athletic toughness. Jaden is having a great senior season on the football field and should continue on throughout the basketball seson
Mason Bakker – 6’5′ PF/TE ZEELAND WEST
A prospect who may be leaning towards basketball but is certainly a player who could get strong interest for football with his size and how well as he moves. Bakker also played QB and could be plugged in just about anywhere on the field.
Spencer Brown – 6’6 OT/C WALLED LAKE NORTHERN
An elite student-athlete committed to play football at MSU. Spencer is making waves across Michigan with his sensational play on both the gridiron and basketball court.
Keenan Stolz – 6’4 TE/SF – BRIGHTON
This multi-dimensional athlete can do many things on both the basketball court and football field. Look for Keenan to have a terrific basketball season as he will most certainly draw attention to many coaches and scouts.
