Pre-Season Player of the Year
LJ Cryer is the top 2020 prospect in the Greater Houston area, and is also a Top 5 player in the state of Texas. He can score the ball at all 3 levels, as well as get his teammates involved. Plays great defense and is a great leader. LJ has multiple D1 offers.
Team to Beat
Morton Ranch Mavericks is the team to beat this year in district 19. They have two Nationally touted prospects in juniors LJ Cryer and Eddie Lampkin, plus a great cast around them. With three new transfer students gives them a very deep roster filled with players of all levels. Last year they went 24-10 and 11-3 in district play. They look to go further than the 2nd round of the playoffs this year.
Biggest Threat
Cinco Ranch High School will be a team to watch and a threat in the district. They will be led by senior shooting guard Jaron Presley who is committed to St. Mary’s University (D2).
