Contenders, Prospects, & Sleepers: UIL 6A-III District 18
It is October and that means its only days away from the UIL season opening games. Let’s take a dive into various districts, and begin previewing teams and players to watch! Today we dive into the UIL 6A-II District 15!
Pre-Season Player of the Year
Marlon Jackson will have a big year for the Tigers. Great length and is uber bouncy. Has the ability to stretch out the floor. He will be a handful in the district.
Team to Beat
Sam Houston looks to take the district again and has a team full of seniors. Senior power forward Kevin Baker is the glue guy and will draw a lot of attention. They have a strong starting 5 and look to continues last year success. With the loss of TCU point guard Kendric Davis they are still the favorites to win district 18.
Biggest Threat
Bellaire Cardinals will be a threat in district 18. They are capable of giving the team to beat a run for there money. Two solid senior guards in Ragland and Young, and up and coming sophomore Lawrence will add to the mix.
Sleeper
Houston Heights is the sleeper of the group. Expect them to crash the party and make some noise. They still have a young nucleus but are experienced. Keep your eye out for the Bulldogs.
