Chick-fil-A Weatherford Junior College Event
The Chick-fil-A Junior College Event hosted by Larren Silver had some of the best Texas junior colleges playing one another in a scrimmage format. This event had multiple Division I coaches in attendance checking out all of the talented prospects.
James Reese / 6’3″/ SG / Odessa / Sophomore.
James was the best shooter in the building. He has a quick release and if you give him any space, he will shoot it with no hesitation. He made five threes in a game versus McClennan from multiple areas on the floor. Reese also displayed his ball handling ability when he needed to help bring the ball up the court. On the defensive end, Reese has good lateral quickness that allows him to be able to pester the ball handler when he is guarding them.
Nigel Allen / 6’2″ / PG / Western Texas / Sophomore
Nigel is a slick ball handler that uses his dribble to get past defenders or to simply create space for mid range pull ups and finishing at the basket. Allen is also a willing passer that has good court awareness and can find the open man. He plays both on or off the ball depending on the personnel that Head Coach has on the floor with him.
Jalon Pipkins / 6’3″ / PG / Paris / Sophomore
The shifty point guard uses angles very well to blow by the defender and attack the paint where he either found his teammates or finished it himself. Jalon has a good body to go along with his point guard skills, which he uses to absorb physicality from defenders.
Javen Hedgeman / 6’4″ / PG / McClennan
Hedgeman plays with good pace at the lead guard position. He is never out of control and knows how to change gears to make it hard for the defender to stay in front of him. Javen has good size for position and is a natural floor general. He consistently made the right passes and he will guard you 94 feet on the defensive end.
