Best Available: 2019 Power Forwards
The high school season is less than three weeks away and we are at a point where commitments and best available are highly relevant. At the end of each month throughout the season, we will be diving into those players still on the board and looking at who fits where. Things can change in the span of a week so each month should provide us with a whole new view on the landscape.
Today, we are looking at the 2019 power forwards and the players still remaining on the board. We list the DI, DII, NAIA, and DIII targets. As a note, these are based off of where we think the player will excel at the highest level. Players will get recruited above and below the level we have them listed for but it is our estimation that these are where they would succeed the most.
Already Off The Board:
This is a position that has already produced a few non-DI commitments with Childress, Applegate, and Newman already off the board. DeVault and Dove snuck in to a pair of lower level programs. Overall, a good group already committed but still plenty available for teams to look at.

DI Targets Still On The Board:
There are a number of guys still on the board for DI programs. However, things seem to be winding down for both Trayce and Laravia. However, Curry and Johnson should still be on the board for a while and I don’t expect commitments until the season has begun at the earliest. Curry and Johnson might also be candidates for JUCO stints as well so things could be drawn out even longer.

DII Targets Still On The Board:
DII teams still have a few options here. Ejah is the best of the bunch with a slight possibility of still landing a DI offer. He’s a perfect fit for a DII four-man and could be very high level. Robinson gives you the most versatile option and Jordan is the best true post and rim protection option. All three seem like great fits for the DII level and can play in any league in the country.

NAIA Targets Still On The Board:
For those in this group, there will be some really aggressive recruiting coming up. Soltis and Rinehart are two of the more physical players and could be great fits for Crossroad League teams. Stoltz has the most size and stretch ability of the bunch. Hicks and Richardson are both slightly undersized for the position but they are also two of the more effective players in the post who can both play away from the rim a bit. Andershock, Welch, and Johnson will be the more versatile of the bunch and Jordan might have the best upside of the group.

DIII Targets Still On The Board:
There are a ton of great options still on the board for DIII teams. Detling and Jennings are the best of the bunch. I think you also have quite a few sizable options at 6’6+ that can give you some ability to spread the floor. Hayes has improved quite a bit and Sroufe is ability to play primarily on the perimeter with some work. Even down the list, Robbins, Ayers, and Romig are some really intriguing options that could be even more impressive in a college system rather than a high school team.
