Best Available: 2019 Centers
The high school season is less than three weeks away and we are at a point where commitments and best available are highly relevant. At the end of each month throughout the season, we will be diving into those players still on the board and looking at who fits where. Things can change in the span of a week so each month should provide us with a whole new view on the landscape.
Today, we are looking at the 2019 centers and the players still remaining on the board. We list the DI, DII, NAIA, and DIII targets. As a note, these are based off of where we think the player will excel at the highest level. Players will get recruited above and below the level we have them listed for but it is our estimation that these are where they would succeed the most.
Already Off The Board:
So far, there is only one player off the board with Segall in tow for Ferris State. Center is the least populated of the positions every year and this year is no exception. Doubtful many if any join him before the season begins but you could see Kachjaani and Jones pull the trigger, possibly.

DI Targets Still On The Board:
Dawand has proven to be one of the best players in the state and definitely the most entertaining. He’s also the last true DI talent left on the board and really the only one. He’s likely to end up at the mid-major and probably the MAC. After that, you might have to look outside of Indiana.

DII Targets Still On The Board:
This is the first time when you could see a lot of flexibility in level. Both Carter and Kachjaani could end up anywhere from DI to NAIA. Guys with size have the most to lose and gain in their senior seasons and both could end up seeing a dynamic shift if all goes well. Could see some difficulty, though, in their recruitment based on their small high schools.

NAIA Targets Still On The Board:
There aren’t many options for NAIA teams either unless those DII targets end up here. Hogan has played himself into the mix for NAIA programs while Hinds could be a long term play that could work out if he can become a little more agile and quick, his skill is there already. Outside of that, not a ton of comfortable options at this time.

DIII Targets Still On The Board:
Really like the DIII options on the board as guys like Dove, Warrum, Wiggins, and Beard could be high level players in the right system. Wiggins might end up the best of this group with his shooting ability. Warrum provides the best post protection, and Dove is easily the toughest of the group and the best rebounder. Cole Brady, Alex Mossey, Tyler Stead, and Damieon Warrum give you some legit size as well.
