Who are the best AAU Teams of All Time?

I am sure there are many more teams out there that deserve notice but these old school teams make the cut simply because of the resume that these players have built over the years.   The Grassroots curcuit is continuing to churn out dominating prospects and as the years go by it is certain that this list will change.

NEW JERSEY PATTERSON AAU  1994 – Kobe Bryant – NBA. Vince Carter – North Carolina, NBA. Tim Thomas – Villanova, NBA. Rip Hamilton – Uconn, NBA. Kevin Freeman – Uconn.

Considered by many the great AAU team ever assembled. They won 2 AAU national championships. This New Jersey based team will forever live in AAU lure. Its hard to imagine they lost much.

  •  ATLANTIC CELTICS 2003 – Dwight Howard – NBA. Josh Smith – NBA. Randolph Morris – Kentucky, NBA. Jarvis Crittenton – Georgia Tech, NBA. Brandon Rush – Kansas, NBA. Mike Mercer, Georgia.

The most intimidating front line in the history of traveling basketball. 

  • OAKLAND SOLDIERS 2002 – Lebron James – NBA. Kendrick Perkins – NBA. Leon Powe – Cal, NBA. Demarcus Nelson – Duke, NBA. Ayinde Ubaka – Cal.

When Lebron James showed that had three of the top 10 players in the entire nation. The Oakland team went on to win ever major tournament they played in together. 

  • BABC AAU  2011 –  NIKE EYBL National Championship team of 2011

That team featured  Nerlens Noel(Kentucky, 76ers), Wayne Selden(Kansas,Grizzlies)  Georges Niang(Iowa State, Pacers), Goodluck Okonoboh(UNLV), Jake Layman(Maryland, Trailblazers),  Rene Castro(Butler, Duquesne)
