All-Met Candidate: Terrance Williams
We’ve been taking an up close look at 10 First Team All-Met candidates in the DMV. With all things being considered, our prediction covers three categories: individual production, team performance, and level of competition. We’ve been releasing one candidate each day, with the players organized in alphabetical order by last name. Here, we profile Terrance Williams, a junior at Gonzaga.
PRODUCTION
Since his freshman year, Terrance Williams has produced at a high level, both with his ability to score and rebound. When considering his versatility, experience, and the improved fitness he showed this preseason, you have to think that Williams will take another step forward this year.
PERFORMANCE
Gonzaga will play good basketball no matter who is on the floor, and we expect them to once again compete with the top teams in the country this year. The Eagles return a good amount of key contributors from last year, and will open the season as a top-five team in our power poll.
COMPETITION
Each year, Coach Steve Turner challenges his team with a difficult schedule that pits them among some of the top teams in the country. Mount St. Joe’s is a very good local team we know Gonzaga will face early in the season. When factoring that in with the fact that they are in the WCAC, there is no doubt that the level of competition they face on a nightly basis would qualify as strong.
