All-Met Candidate: Qudus Wahab
We’ve been taking an up close look at 10 First Team All-Met candidates in the DMV. With all things being considered, our prediction covers three categories: individual production, team performance, and level of competition. We’ve been releasing one candidate each day, with the players organized in alphabetical order by last name. Here, we profile Qudus Wahab, a senior at Flint Hill.
PRODUCTION
Qudus Wahab was easily one of, if not the most dominant paint presence in the DMV a season ago. Averaging 18.6 points, 11.9 rebounds, and 3.75 blocks per game, there is no denying that Wahab produced at a high level each night he hit the floor. If like us he feels like he was snubbed from the All-Met Team last year, the elite post prospect will probably look to dominate the competition even more this season.
PERFORMANCE
Last year, Flint Hill was one of the surprise teams in the region, and went on an excellent win streak during the heart of the season. The Huskies return a good portion of their key contributors last year, and should once again compete among the area’s top teams.
COMPETITION
The level of competition in the MAC is strong on a nightly basis, and while the Huskies are definitely one of the favorites to win the league, they will be tested on a game-by-game basis. Flint Hill has reportedly scheduled games against DeMatha, Episcopal, and SSSAS out of conference, which should all be tough tests.
