All-Met Candidate: Anthony Harris
We’ve been taking an up close look at 10 First Team All-Met candidates in the DMV. With all things being considered, our prediction covers three categories: individual production, team performance, and level of competition. We’ve been releasing one candidate each day, with the players organized in alphabetical order by last name. Here, we profile Anthony Harris, a senior at Paul VI.
PRODUCTION
As the senior, most experienced player, and leader of this team, Anthony Harris will show that he can impact the game in a number of different ways. He will score, facilitate offense, and guard the opposing team’s best player night in and night out. Harris will also be asked to lead vocally and with his actions. If he consistently bring the best out of his teammates, PVI will be tough to stop.
PERFORMANCE
PVI will head into the season as a top-three team in our Power Poll this year. Harris will run alongside two-time gold medalist and five star PG Jeremy Roach to form the most dynamic backcourt tandem in the region.George Mason commit Josh Oduro will anchor the front court, and talented wing scorer Josiah Freeman is expected to make a jump this year as well. Harris will have the task of making sure everyone is on the same page and firing on all cylinders each night.
COMPETITION
The Panthers challenge themselves with a competitive national schedule every year, and there’s no doubting the gauntlet they will face in conference will be a difficult one. This year’s out of conference schedule pits them against the likes of St. Frances, Montverde Academy, Nicolet, Immaculate Conception, and Shadow Mountain.
