4A Teams That You’ll Want To Watch This Year
As we get into the swing of previews, we will track each class with teams that we are interested in. Up next in our list of superlatives are the 4A teams that you’ll want to watch this year. Next, we will dive into the 3A teams that you’ll want to watch this year.
Lawrence Central
Lawrence Central is going to be much improved this year and will be such a fun team to watch. They haven’t won a sectional title in 20 years and this might be the year that they buck that trend. They have a loaded roster this year as Nijel Pack, Jake LaRavia, and transfer PJ Edwards all have D1 offers. D’Andre Davis, a 2020 wing, just committed to Nebraska. Wesley Jordan is another guy who is in line to receive a few offers this year. You’ll want to watch LC because of their sheer talent across the starting lineup.
Center Grove
Since Keion Brooks has transferred out of Fort Wayne North, the masses will be flocking to Center Grove to watch Trayce Jackson-Davis play. Jackson-Davis is down to three schools, Indiana, Michigan State, and UCLA. Jackson-Davis is a beast and if he does commit to Indiana, you could see another Romeo-esque turnout where a ton of IU fans come out to every game. Besides him, Center Grove does have a lot of key pieces in the rotation. Ben Nicoson, a Uindy commit, and Spencer Piercefield, a Indiana Wesleyan commit, both return to help score the ball.
Warren Central
Why wouldn’t you want to see Warren Central play this year? David Bell, one of the best dual-sport athletes in the nation returns to a team that went 32-0 last year and is 53-3 over the last two years. They play tough and will grind you down on the defensive end. Jesse Bingham and Jakobie Robinson both return this year as key players on last year’s team. Isiah Moore and Manuel Brown both transfer in replacing the guards they lost last year. Brown holds two D1 offers and Bingham is committed to Indy. This is going to be a fun group again.
Cathedral
Cathedral is going to be a really fun team this year. Armaan Franklin had a huge breakout season last year and has committed to Indiana. Cathedral did lose Jarron Coleman to Ball State, but that will open them up a little bit more to show their other players. Justin Hensley couldn’t miss a shot over the summer and he will look to have a big year. James Franklin will return and look to provide the team a spark. Cathedral is going to be a fun team to watch this year because they will score a lot of points and do it in a ton of different ways.
Jeffersonville
Jeffersonville is going to be one of the premier 4A teams in the southern part of the state. Two juniors are going to lead this team this year after some graduations from last year. Tre Coleman is a guy who is going to have offers rolling in this season and Jacob Jones is a point guard who can really distribute the ball. They are going to be a fun team to watch in the southern part of the state due to Coleman, who broke out a little bit this summer. Jaylen Fairmon is another guy that is going to be a solid piece this year.
