2021 Standouts Making The Rounds
The class of 2021 is proving to be a very interesting group that not only could perform well on the court but could also spark some in-state battles between schools. There are a number of players already getting some level of interest but a select few are right there mixing it up with some big time programs.
Lander Picks Up Another Big Ten Offer
Evansville Reitz (IN) 2021 guard Khristian Lander is non-stop right now as he just wrapped up a visit to Ohio State and picking up an offer on the trip. That marks another Big Ten offer to go along with Indiana, Purdue, Illinois, and Iowa. He has been about as hot as you can imagine.
For Lander, the in-state schools are probably of more interest as of right now but with so many offers in hand already, it will be interesting to see if some out-of-area programs at Power 5 schools come into the mix during the high school season.
Konieczny Making The Rounds
2021 wing Douglas “JR” Konieczny Jr. of South Bend St. Joseph (IN) is taking a lot of visits right now. He just finished up a trip to Nashville where he visited Belmont, Vanderbilt, and Lipscomb. However, the trip to Miami (OH) was the most fruitful as he landed another offer.
Head coach Jack Owens and assistant Kenneth Lowe have been using their Indiana connections to be able to get in on some guys this offseason and the sophomore wing is one of those that fits. The 6’5 small forward now has a pair of offers heading into the late Fall with Valparaiso and Miami (OH) as the two early offers.
Caleb Furst Keeping Pace
The top of the 2021 class is really outstanding in Indiana and with so many talented players, things are going to be interesting over the coming years. Probably the most advanced and ready player is that of Blackhawk Christian (IN) forward Caleb Furst.
He just got done making a visit to Ohio State where he picked up an offer from Chris Holtman and the Buckeyes. He now pairs that with offers from Purdue, and Butler. It would surprise quite a bit if those are the only offers he has by the time the high school season ends as he will be a very productive player on a very good team.
