- Dekeyvan Tandy, University Heights – KyKy is one of the best scoring guards we have seen in Kentucky this decade. Able to score the ball at all 3 levels, the recent Xavier commit is really athletic and able to raise up over defenders to get his shot off on almost anyone. Tandy is an elite level top 100 commit who would be the top prospect in almost any other recruiting class in Kentucky.
- Jackson Harlan, Clinton County – Harlan and Tandy had a tremendous showdown this summer when they combined for almost 80 points at Western Kentucky team camp. The 6’4 shooting guard is a skilled scorer that is crafty and much more athletic than he’s given credit for. Look for the WKU commit to be one of the top scorers in the state this season as he looks to lead his team to Rupp Arena.
- JJ Kalakon, Waggener – JJ is one of the best isolation scorers in the state with his skill set and ability to score through contact at the rim. Kalakon showed improvement as a shooter last season and he is a willing passer with the ball in his hands. JJ once held multiple D1 offers but his stock is down after a rough AAU season. Look for him to bounce back in a big way as a senior.
- TreVon Smith, Taylor County – The high scoring lefty from Campbellsville is looking for a bounce back season as well. Smith had a frustrating Junior year as Taylor County stumbled as a team and Smith faced double and triple teams all season long. Taylor County should be much better this season and Smith should see better numbers this season as a result.
- Derrin Boyd, Caldwell County – Boyd is a very athletic wing who is one of the best players in Kentucky that no one ever talks about. Derrin averaged over 20 points per game as a Junior and could average even more this year as he is going to be counted on to carry a heavy scoring load for the Tigers this season. Boyd has some interest from Kentucky Wesleyan and Asbury but could be a steal for a D1 college after a year of junior college.
Other Top Shooting/Combo Guards:
- JJ Ramey, South Laurel
- Connor Guthrie, Mayfield
- Cameron Wilson, Valley
- Bryce Long, Scott County
- Kyle Stivers, Franklin County
