Drew Timme has consistently been the best power forward in the class throughout his high school career. The five-star prospect skillfully operates on the low block and in the high post, dominates the glass, and can lead the break. He has a soft touch in the paint and finishes well through contact. He needs to improve his timing defensively, as he tends to get into foul trouble frequently. Timme has recently taken official visits to Alabama, Gonzaga, Illinois, and Texas A&M and has another official visit to Arizona scheduled on November 2. He has announced that he will be signing in November as well.
The Shot Swatting Runner-Ups
Shot-blocking extraordinaires Victor Iwuakor (pictured in featured image) and J’Wan Roberts follow up respectively at the the number 2 and 3 spots. Iwuakor is an explosive four-star athlete who dunks and blocks everything. The Oklahoma commit reminds me of a skinnier version of four-time NBA Defensive Player of the Year and NBA Champion Ben Wallace. Roberts is a very skilled shot blocker who properly times his opponents’ attempts. The Houston commit also finishes everything in the paint.
Look Out For: Bryce Okpoh
Bryce Okpoh is the top uncommitted prospect at this position not named Drew Timme. The undersized four man has two year experience playing 17U on the Nike EYBL circuit. Bryce has garnered multiple Division 1 offers and it will be interesting to see where the talented athlete decides to play college basketball.
Division II, III, and Junior Colleges should go check out Devon Miller of Lancaster/Urban DFW. He’s an undersized, stocky four man who goes to is active on the glass and plays above the rim. Miller plays bigger than what he is and will have a chance to prove that during his senior season with the talented Lancaster Tigers.
