2019 : Available Shooting Guards
Shooting Guards are always a necessity on a college roster. Lets take a look and see who is still available in the Palmetto State in the 2019 class.
Allen Williamson – Wilson HS (Florence) (pictured on front)
Williamson is back for his 4th year on varsity with the Tigers. Williamson 6’3 left-handed guard plays with a bit of a old school type of game. Williamson averaged 12 ppg last season for the Tigers and Head Coach Derrick McQueen.
Mike Green – Christian Academy of Myrtle Beach
Green is already the most prolific scorer in Saints history and has scored 1,726 career points while connecting on 260 three pointers. Green is hoping to get the Saints back to the SCISA 2-A State Championship Game like past years.
Jalen Johnson – Sumter HS
Johnson 6’4 really found his niche this past summer with Upward Stars-Columbia and Head coach Christian Savage. Johnson will be a great piece for the Gamecocks this season and Calvin “CJ” Felder. Johnson has received interest from Francis Marion (SC) (NCAA D2), Southern Wesleyan University (SC) (NCAA D2), Newberry (SC) (NCAA D2) and Salem (WV) (NCAA D2).
Shaman Alston – Nation Ford HS
Alston 6’4 has received interest from St Leo (FL) (NCAA D2), Francis Marion (SC) (NCAA D2), Lenoir-Rhyne (NC) (NCAA D2) and Wingate (NC) (NCAA D2).. The Falcons have a solid back court any plenty of talent to make a strong run in the Upstate this coming season.
Matthew Kormylo – Southside Christian (Simpsonville)
Kormylo has piled up numbers the last few seasons for the Sabres. Virginia Military Institute has shown interest in Kormylo who carries a 4.3 GPA in the classroom. Kormylo averaged over 25 ppg last season after going for 27 ppg as a sophomore.
Jadakiss Wright – Silver Bluff HS
Wright is back for the Bulldogs this season. Wright has deep range on his shot and averaged 12,5 ppg last season.
Zach Baldinelli – Boling Springs HS
Baldinelli battled through injuries last season for the Bulldogs. Baldinelli a left-handed gritty guard leaves it all on the floor. Baldinelli visited Bridgewater College (VA) (NCAA D3) earlier this fall. Erskine (SC) (NCAA D2) and North Carolina Wesleyan (NCAA D3) have shown interest in Baldinelli.
JaVon Anderson – Ridge View HS
Anderson is currently tearing it up on the football field for the Blazers. Anderson recently threw for 328 yards and a school record 6 touchdown passes in a victory over Lancaster. Anderson 6’1 is a deep range threat on the floor for the Blazers and ran with the Carolina Pressure and Team South Carolina this past summer.
Derrick Sinkler – AC Flora HS
Sinkler averaged 16 ppg last season for the Falcons. Sinkler has the ability to play on the ball when given the opportunity. Sinkler played with Upward Upstate Silver later in the Grassroots Circuit season.
Latrell Taylor – Keenan HS
Taylor came on strong late in the summer on the Grassroots Circuit. Taylor has the ability to create his own shot and can really get on fire in a hurry when given a chance. Taylor averaged 10.4 ppg last season for the Raiders.
Mason Carver – Lexington HS
Carver averaged 16.2 ppg last season for Lexington HS. Carver won’t overwhelm you on the floor but do not leave him open in the corners.
