Tuesday’s Top Ten: Updates on the 2019 Elite
The Minnesota 2019 class has a load of talented committed players but some of the state’s best are still in the decision making process. Here is an update.
Matthew Hurt. Minnesota Head Coach Richard Pitino will have an in-home visit with Matthew Hurt next Monday. Coach K, John Calipari, and Bill Self will all be in Rochester for in home visits next Sunday. In eight days Penny Hardaway will be in Rochester for his visit. That leaves UCLA, North Carolina, and Indiana as next to schedule.
Zeke Nnaji. Coach Richard Pitino will visit with Zeke two Thursdays from now at Zeke’s home in Lakeville. Bill Self and John Calipari will also hit up Zeke Nnaji on that Sunday when in town for Hurt. Kansas has offered Zeke, Kentucky has not. In-home visits are also scheduled for Arizona, UCLA, Purdue, and Georgetown later in the month.
David Roddy. David will have Richard Pitino at his home for a visit next Monday, and then he will visit Minnesota the following weekend officially. Northwestern will be at David’s two Wednesdays from now, and then take his official visit there October 13th. Roddy’s visit to Colorado State is this weekend (official visit).
Jamison Battle. Jamison is visiting George Washington this weekend on an official trip. Lehigh, San Diego, Wofford, Richmond, Northern Kentucky, UW-Milwaukee, Montana, Air Force, and Canisius among others. Battle is scheduling visits to other programs at the moment.
Robert Jones. Jones was to visit Xavier last weekend but they took a commitment from another player. Jones will be at the University of Denver this weekend plus he has Princeton and Cal Poly after him regularly.
Courtney Brown Jr. Brown has an in-home visit to Cal Poly on September 12 and official visits to UW-Milwaukee the weekend of September 13th, the following weekend he will be at the University of Denver, and University of Nebraska-Omaha the last weekend of September.
Dane Zimmer. Dane has an offer from St. Cloud State and took a visit to the school this summer. Also has an offer from Concordia-St. Paul and St. Thomas is after him strong.
Tommy Chatman. Chatman visited Winona State officially at the end of August, had an official visit to Northern State this month, and Minnesota State-Moorhead is coming on strong after their offer was made.
Malik Willingham. Step it up schools! He’s worth it.
Antwan Kimmons. Kimmons took his visit to Idaho State over the weekend and committed to the school. Congrats to Antwan who became the 6th player in the state to commit to a D1 school from Minnesota (I expect this class to have at least a dozen D1 signed players by the end of the year).
