Top 250 Expo: Forwards who raised their profile (2019)
Here is a look at several 2019 forwards who raised their profile at the Prep Hoops Kansas Top 250 Expo held on Sunday at Blue Valley West.
8 — Anthony Bell, 6’5, F, 2019, Park Hill South (Mo.)
Has some length and bounce around the basket, but struggled to get much done as Bell missed several easy chance in the paint in the games that we watched. He had some terrific moments on the offensive glass and might have been one of the camps better all-around rebounders.
21-Payton Contrell, 6’5, F, 2019, Pittsburg (Kan.)
Contrell brings strong athleticism and enthusiasm to the floor. He makes the defense pay in the paint and has a killer shot at the right corner of the free throw line. That mid-range shot comes in handy as he’s known to pull up quickly to catch opponents by surprise. He knows how to get it off. He knows how to do damage on offense and can really sell defenders when he has the ball. One fake after another, the ball is going where he wants it.
47-Jarrett Hensley, 6’7, F, 2019, Leavenworth (Kan.)
Some big players can put their back to the basket and score and shoot well from behind the 3-point line. Hensley is one of them. He handles the ball well for his size and can mix things up with his outside game. He has solid athleticism and showcased it in flashes throughout the day. Hensley is a high percentage shooter who knows how to create his own shots.
67 — Brody Marshall, 6’6, F, 2019, Gardner-Edgerton (Kan.)
We saw a lot of skill from Marshall throughout the camp as he showed the ability to put the on the floor and attack off the dribble. While he plays a lot around the basket, Marshall can knock down outside shots, Marshall had quite a performance throughout the event as he played with high level effort and energy.
