Top 250 Expo: 30 Names to Know
Trayvon Williams, 6’3 G (Valley) — 2019
Iowa’s 12th-ranked 2019, Williams is a guy that has the physical tools of a D1 guard. He’s one of the state’s best slashing guards, and has been working to improve his jumper. He’ll be showcasing some tough on-ball defense, too.
Tyler Andrews, 6’5 SF (Kennedy) — 2020
Trey Shearer, 5’10 G (Montezuma) — 2021
Reid Grant, 6’3 G (Johnston) — 2021
Payton Sandfort, 6’5 SG (Waukee) — 2021
We recently placed the Waukee sharpshooter as the state’s 3rd-ranked 2021, that’s some pretty high praise. When you get a look at his size, sweet stroke and high hoops IQ, it should become clear why we hold him in such high regard.
Cortaviaus Seales, 6′ PG (North Scott) — 2019
Willie Guy, 5’9 G (Cedar Rapids Jefferson) — 2019
Noah Hart, 6’3 PG (Waukee) — 2019
Japannah Kellogg, 6’7 SF (Ames) — 2019
This Ames wing has been at the last two Expos, and now — even though he’s got three D1 offers to his name already — he’s making a third trip, making him one of the grizzled vets of this event. He’s physically imposing, 6’7 with some nice length, and will be one of the more versatile players at the event.
Angelo Winkel, 6’8 PF (Bishop Garrigan) — 2021
Dylan Jones, 6’8 F (Waukee) — 2019
Will Berg, 6’8 PF (Valley) — 2020
Collin Lister, 6’2 G (Carlisle) — 2019
Michael Duax, 6’3 G (Hempstead) — 2021
Currently checking in at the state’s 6th-ranked 2021, Duax has plenty of older brothers who were ballers in their own right. He undoubtedly learned his game from them, and there’s a chance he could be the best Duax brother yet.
Christian Stanislav, 6’3 SG (Glenwood) — 2019
Tamin Lipsey, 6’2 PG (Ames) — 2022
Jake Hilmer, 5’10 PG (North Linn) — 2019
Jack Wetzel, 6’3 G (Kennedy) — 2020
The more we see Wetzel, the more we like his game. He getting better and better, but he’s not the flashy type, just a big and strong wing who can get things done in a multitude of ways. Look for Wetzel — Iowa’s 11th-ranked 2020 — to be one of the more productive guards at the event.
Ozzie Meiborg, 5’11 G (Cedar Rapids Jefferson) — 2020
Nick Pepin, 5’11 PG (Iowa City West) — 2020
Tre McCrary, 6′ PG (Xavier) — 2020
Harouna Sissoko, 6’7 SF (Grand View Christian) — 2019
We’re really excited about this attendee, and he could provide a lot of rim-rattling jams before the day is over. Sissoko is a Mali-born combo-forward who came to Des Moines from Georgia. He’s huge, can put the ball on the deck, and will hit a 3-ball in addition to wrecking some rims.
Dakota Rold, 6’6 C (Exira-EHK) — 2019
Tucker DeVries, 6’4 SF (Waukee) — 2021
Jaxon Smith, 5’10 PG (Ankeny) — 2020
Josh Ollendieck, 6’1 PG (Cedar Falls) — 2020
Nathan Michels, 6’4 G (Benton) — 2019
As a result of vast improvement over the past year-and-a-half, Michel’s has become one of the more intriguing available 2019 guards. He possesses great length and is very active defensively. He’ll burn you offensively by scoring at all three levels, and has some nice size and athleticism to boot.
Sam Kilburg, 5’10 G (North Scott) — 2020
Dylan Johnson, 6’6 SF (Western Dubuque) — 2021
