Top 250 Camp: 2022 Evals
The PrepHoopsIllinois Top 250 Camp was this past weekend in Deerfield, Illinois. It was the best group of prospect in recent memory at all ages! Here are our evaluations of the Class of 2022!
SF Timaris Brown (St. Patrick’s)
Brown was probably the best prospect of the 2022 players in attendance. The lefty stands at 6’4” with an angular build. Could easily see him growing more. Bombed in threes both off the catch and pulling up. Very projectable. Little bit raw with his handles, but has plenty of time to tighten that up.
SG Owen McManaman (Lyons)
Lyons continues to produce quality guards year in and year out! This two guard runs the floor hard and has a tough mindset being only 5’11”. Nice cross and pull up mid-range jumper. Also went for an up and under.
G Bryant Handley (St. Patrick’s)
Crisp passer at the lead guard spot. Threw quite a few bullet passes that were converted for points. Only 5’11” now, but could definitely see him growing.
G Stephen Goonan (Lane Tech)
Goonan is a 6’2” combo guard from Lane Tech that has quality size already. Displayed a decent skill level early in the process. Connected on catch and shoot threes. Also worked well in the pick and roll game.
SF Kolby Gilles (St. Ignatius)
Gillies might not have been the most projectable prospect in the house, but man did this kid always seem to be around the basketball. Nose for the ball as a rebounder and scored several times because he was in the right place at the right time.
PG Miles Casey (St. Ignatius)
Lead guard from St. Ignatius that we have heard some buzz about coming into this season. The freshman has a chance to follow in the line of quality guard play for St. Ignatius. Seems to play with confidence for a young player. Runner game was something that stood out.
