The Prep Hoops Top 250 Expo: Minnesota 2020s
The Prep Hoops Top 250 Expo is fittingly strong with 250 plus attendees and the junior class includes some of the state’s better talents.
Ball Handlers. Some of the state’s top up and coming playmakers will be in Burnsville this weekend. There are a few different groups starting with three of the better craftier playmakers we’ve seen in the past half year: Parker Nielsen, James Sommer, and Gavin Vosika. Another group at the event is players that took a monster step at 16U: Joseph Bachinski, Will Cordes, and DeAndre Miller. Then you have a group of players that we think will have monster junior seasons: Davind Ijadimbola, Joseph Kearney, and Tait Nelson.
Joseph Bachinski of Lakeville South
Will Cordes of Shakopee
David Ijadimbola of Park Center
Grant Jensen of Minnewaska Area
Joseph Kearney of Tartan
Winston Knox of Wayzata
Micah Ladd of Cambridge
DeAndre Miller of Maple Grove
Tait Nelson of St. Anthony
Parker Nielsen of Prescott (WI)
David Savageau of Osakis
James Sommer of Cristo Rey Jesuit
Gavin Vosika of BOLD
Wings. What really has us excited is to see three of the better wings in the 2020 class – J’Vonne Hadley, PJ Hayes, and Nathan Heise – go at it with the seniors that will be competing this weekend. Hadley, Hayes, and Heise all led quality programs in scoring last year and are looking at some monster potential upperclassmen years. Reid Gastner has definitely developed and a player we are interested in seeing is Jonathan Zinniel out of Cathedral in New Ulm.

PJ Hayes of Waconia

Bigs. At 6-foot-10 Cole Chapman is the biggest junior at the event and an up and coming post. Cooper Olson definitely put himself to a higher level this summer with the Fury and we are excited to see what he’s become. Then there is Luke Schwartzhoff and John Sutherland, two outstate bigs that had good winters.
