The Breakdown Showcase: Noteable ballers and how they faired! (Part 2 of 3)
The Breakdown showcase started and ended with drill sets. The stations included shooting, ball handling, 1 on 1 play, 2 on 2 play, and 3 on 3 play. There are times when drills can be misleading to a players talent level and this is where I start to seperate guys. Top guys in stations don’t always mean a player has game but the guys featured next excelled in drills and game play.

Jadrian Tracey | 6’6 G / F | Oldsmar Christain |
Tracey was one of the top underclassmen on hand. Tracey is a impact player because he is versatile and can do it all. He can post and has various moves to finish, he will rebound and push the ball up the floor, and he has a nice shooting touch from deep. On top of all of that he defends at a high level. This prospect is developing into a top prospect at the next level.
Kobe Gibbs | 6’7 Forward | Oldsmar Christain |
Gibbs was easily the most exciting player to watch. He’s a highlight reel waiting to happen. He fills lanes on breaks and looks to posterize anyone in his way. His potential is off the charts and I’m not sure if he even realizes it. He has a soft touch to his shot and can hit from 15 feet down. There was a few times he put the ball on the floor and got to the rim on his own.
Murad Berrien | 5’9 PG | Superior Collegiate |
Berrien is lightning quick! His speed and agility is his biggest asset because he uses it to shut down opposing players. Everyone he guarded had a hard time doing anything. Berrien also handles the ball very well and has great vision. His hops will suprise you, he will dunk on you if you’re not careful.

Charles Crews | 6’1 Guard | Strawberry Crest |
Crews is a very talented scorer. The lefty can stroke it well from deep, pull up and hit the mid-range consistently, and blow past defenders on his way to the rim. He’s a very confident player who knows what he can do so it adds a little swag to his game once he gets going. As a Freshman, he led his varsity team in scoring. I’m looking forward to seeing his growth and maturity throughout high school.
Jahsean Corbitt | 6’6 Forward | Poinciana |
Corbitt is a smooth player to watch. He does everything under control and cleanly. He’s at his best when he slashes to the rim or is in pick and pop/ roll situations. Corbitt moves well without the rock, he will find open spots and finish thru traffic. His jumper is a work in progress but his work ethic will see him thru.
Deon Brown | 5’11 Guard | Bayshore Christian |
Brown is a pure shooter. He can spot up, come off screens, or create his own shot off the dribble. This is my second time seeing him this month at showcases amd the second time he’s been one of the best shooters in the gym. Brown is very underrated but I’m sure his stock will rise.
Diego Platas | 6’7 Forward | George Jenkins |
Platas reminds me of Tim Duncan. He’s fundamentally sound! He post hard and finishes with a series of moves. He can also knock down the mid-range. Platas rebounds and defends well. He has that old school big man vibe and simply gets the job done where needed.
